What does “Free Of 8 Major Allergens” stand for?

FDA FALCPA (Food Allergen Labeling And Consumer Protection Act) [1] identifies eight foods or food groups as the major food allergens. They are milk, eggs, fish (e.g., bass, flounder, cod), Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp), tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans), peanuts, wheat, and soybeans. Of course, there are more than 160 foods that have been identified to cause food allergies in sensitive individuals. However, the eight major food allergens identified by FALCPA account for over 90 percent of all documented food allergies in the U.S. and represent the foods most likely to result in severe or life-threatening reactions. What does “Stearate Mg Free” stand for?

The primary role of magnesium stearate in products is to act as a lubricant to prevent tablet and capsule contents from sticking to the machinery that processes them. This ensures that production machinery can operate at maximum speeds and profit targets can be met. [3] Bottom line, at the cost of quality, magnesium stearate helps brands / manufacturers improve profit margins. It is far more costly and time-intensive to produce supplements without magnesium stearate.

More importantly, a higher level of magnesium stearate reduces the ingredient dissolution rate for the product. [4] It is commonly understood in medical literature that magnesium stearate increases the time it takes for tablets and capsules to dissolve due to the film it forms on capsule or tablet ingredients. Magnesium stearate coats a good portion of the molecules in a tablet or capsule, requiring digestive enzymes to break down the magnesium stearate coating before being able to access the nutrients it envelops.

In a study [5] published in the journal of Pharmaceutical Technology (April, 1985), the dissolution rate for capsules after 20 minutes in a solution went from 90% without stearates to 25% with stearates. In other words, stearates reduced the capsule dissolution rate by 65%! This may result in the nutrients not dissolving in the appropriate section of the intestines as intended. We are particularly concerned about individuals with impaired digestion who may have more difficulty absorbing nutrients coated with magnesium stearate.

How much shelf life can I expect?

HCF products include a 30 day minimum remaining shelf life on all orders unless a different expiration date is stated on the product page at the time the order is placed.

Are HCF bottles recyclable?

HCF bottles are all made of recyclable PET with the number “1” in the middle of the recycle triangle.

Do you conduct third party testing on every batch of your product?

As part of our commitment to accountability and authentic transparency, we have provided the Certificates of Analysis for our products, which include detailed information on what we test for and the actual lot-specific results. Simply submit your lot number to view the third-party testing results for that product.

  • Processing - Order is currently being prepared for shipment
  • Complete - Order has been packed and is in transit with the shipping carrier
How do I find my order’s tracking number?

Simple, once your order ships you will receive an email with your tracking information. You can also access your tracking information with the following:

1) Login to your HCF account

2) Scroll down the Account Summary page and find your order under Recent Orders. If your order has been set to Complete status click on the View Order link.

3) On the order view, click on Order Shipments tab and then Track Shipment and a pop-up window will appear with a tracking link to the shipping carrier's website to view your shipment's progress.

How do I change my order?

If you have not received shipping confirmation yet, please contact us with your order details and we’ll be happy to assist.

My order is lost or missing?

Couriers will frequently stash or leave the shipment with a present party (Such as a property office) to prevent theft. We encourage looking around for the order and if still not located please contact us for assistance.

How do I replace my product?

We're happy to assist, please contact us with your order details. Do not use any HCF products if the bottle has been previously opened or the safety seal is broken.

Where do I enter my Store Credit or Coupon Code?

Go to the Order Review section on the final page of checkout and click on Coupon Code or Store Credit links (make sure you’re logged into your account).

Note: Store Credit cannot be applied to Subscription orders.

What is your Return Policy?

Product purchased from HCFScience.com is eligible for return within the first 30 days of receipt. To process a return we require authorization, please contact Support with your order details before sending any return.
